Cleaning tips and resources
Straightforward advice from the work we do every day. Nothing here requires special products or a full weekend.
A 20-minute reset that keeps a home ahead
Between visits, a short daily reset does most of the work. It is less about deep cleaning and more about stopping mess from settling in.
- Clear kitchen counters and run the sink empty before bed
- Wipe the bathroom sink after your morning routine
- Do one load of laundry a day instead of a weekend pile
- Keep a basket for items that belong in another room
How to prepare for a cleaning visit
You do not need to clean before we arrive, but a few small things help us spend the time on cleaning rather than tidying.
- Put away personal items, papers and toys
- Secure pets or let us know where they will be
- Tell us about anything fragile or off-limits
- Confirm how we will get in: key, lockbox, concierge or in person
Standard or deep: which one do you need?
The simplest test is how long it has been since the detail work was done, not how tidy the home looks today.
- Cleaned within the last month and tidy: standard
- Grout, baseboards or appliance interiors overdue: deep
- Starting a recurring schedule: deep first, then standard
- Home is empty and changing hands: move-in or move-out
Caring for common Lower Mainland surfaces
Coastal humidity and rain change what a home needs. A few habits help finishes last between visits.
- Run bathroom fans for 20 minutes after showers to slow mildew
- Use a damp mop rather than soaking sealed hardwood
- Wipe entry floors during wet months to protect the finish
- Keep window tracks clear so condensation can drain
